Tired of staying home and watching the ball drop in Times Square on TV every year? If you’re looking for a change of scenery and a more exciting New Year’s Eve celebration, head out of town for the holiday weekend!
Whether you’re looking for warmer weather and a big party, a big city celebration, a fun road trip or wanting to stay closer to home, Hotels.com Travel Expert Kris Kosach has some great recommendations and a few tricks up her sleeve for how to book your plans and get the room and rate you need. A few of her ideas are just a road trip away!

  • Miami, FL – Escape the cold and join the parties (and celebrities) going on in South Beach, Miami!!! The days are hot and the nights are even hotter!! New Year’s Eve will be no exception!

    • Stay at Doral Golf & Spa Resort – Set on 650 lushly landscaped acres containing five 18-hole championship golf courses, the Doral Golf Resort and Spa is 13 miles west of Miami. The Marriott Resort, Doral Golf Resort and Spa has hosted the PGA championship for 40 years, and some of the world’s most famous golfers play at the resort (i.e. Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus). Guests can grab chairs on the outdoor patio overlooking the greens and watch the action. More than 100 treatments are available in the Spa at Doral, along with fitness counseling, fitness room and a lap pool. The outdoor heated Blue Lagoon Water Park includes four splash pools, children’s pool, spa tub and waterfall. For the kids, Camp Doral provides supervised activities for children ages five to 12.

  • New York, NY – Don’t watch the ball drop on TV–be there! If you’ve never experienced New Year’s Eve in NYC, now is the time to go! Everyone knows it is THE premier city to ring in 2007.

    • Stay at The Muse- Sitting in the middle of the Theater District in New York, N.Y., The Muse, is only one-half block from Broadway theaters and close to Restaurant Row, Times Square, Rockefeller Center and the elegant shops of Fifth Avenue. With its arched limestone and brick façade, this Manhattan hotel features a mahogany-lined lobby with whimsical décor and a 15-foot vaulted ceiling featuring a commissioned Matisse-inspired mural of the nine muses. At this New York City hotel, guestrooms are spacious and feature jewel-toned accents that complement simple wood furnishings and contemporary lighting.
